Built on a 20,000 sf footprint in downtown Sacramento, this 130,000 sf mixed-use building contains 150 units of transitional housing, a medical clinic and retail space. Construction is eight stories of elevated concrete deck with full brick veneer siding, aluminum panels and sun shades on windows. Green features in this project include 680 solar panels installed on the roof that generate power for common areas and heating water, ventilated wall cavities to keep the building cool, and windows positioned to take advantage of prevailing winds that cool interior corridors. We worked as a team with the architect, owner and consultants for almost a year to maintain cost control through design and construction of this project.
