This 54-acre site was most recently the City of Tukwila’s Fort Dent Park and is located on a former WWII military facility adjacent to the Green River. The 80,000 sf metal building contains two indoor soccer turf playing fields, management offices, retail spaces, training areas, corporate display areas, locker rooms, and a food court. Part of the project is the refurbishment of a concrete grandstand into a State of Washington Certified Tournament Soccer Field. Construction characteristics include 60-foot auger cast pilings and grade beams, sidewalks, entry stairs. The end product is actually four structures under one roof within a single building. This project is complicated by a site that is built on a flood plain within 3-feet of the water table and adjacent to a salmon bearing river. In addition, access to the site is limited to a single concrete bridge.
