Deacon Breaks Ground on New Affordable Housing Project in Seattle with Mount Zion Housing
The 61-unit affordable senior apartment building will be set in the heart of Seattle’s Central District
Team members of the Mount Zion Housing, leadership from the Mount Zion Baptist Church, local officials and the Deacon Team were on hand to celebrate the ground breaking of the Mount Zion on 19th project. The seven-story building will feature 10 studios, 50 one-bedroom units and a single two-bedroom unit. There will be seven parking stalls and 12 bike parking spaces.
Mount Zion Housing Development is the housing arm of nearby Mount Zion Baptist Church, Seattle's second-oldest Black church. Rolluda Architects designed the building with a checkerboard design for the central stairwell, echoing the Mount Zion Baptist Church mosaic architecture and bell tower.
The building is expected to be completed in Winter of 2023.
