Giving Committee Holiday Highlights - 2023

This recent holiday season, numerous Deacon team members from along the West Coast happily donated both their time and resources to aid in their offices’ local philanthropic initiatives. Always dedicated to giving back to our communities, the Deacon team is excited to share the exceptional charitable work of our dedicated employees.

SEATTLE GIVING COMMITTEE

Seattle Children's Hospital: Deacon’s Seattle team’s yearly tradition continued with dedicated employees participating in an annual toy drive benefiting the young patients of Seattle Children's Hospital. Local employees were thrilled to make a meaningful impact once again with this wonderful journey that exemplifies the true spirit of the holiday season and is undoubtedly the most eagerly anticipated and widely embraced drive of the year.

PORTLAND GIVING COMMITTEE

Candlelighters for Children with Cancer - Candy Cane Lane Adopt a Family: The Portland office hosted a Candy Cane Lane Adopt a Family event. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of Oregon’s local Deacon employees, every single wish on our adopted families' lists has been granted--and then some. The culminating wrap party, celebrated on December 8th, was a truly magical and heartwarming experience where the spirit of giving thrived among all those in attendance.

Sunshine Division: Additionally, the Portland office executed a highly successful Community Service Day with the local food and clothing relief organization, Sunshine Division. Through the team’s remarkable efforts, Sunshine Division was able to distribute 45-pound food boxes to an impressive count of over 600 families in need of emergency support.

CALIFORNIA GIVING COMMITTEE

Kaiser Roseville Pediatric Oncology Unit - Giving Tree: The California office is thrilled to announce a new partnership with the Kaiser Roseville Pediatric Oncology Unit. The outstanding generosity of area employees has propelled this collaborative pursuit to a resounding success, bringing immeasurable joy to families in the Pediatric Oncology Unit and surpassing all expectations. A remarkable total of 115 toys, coupled with a generous contribution of $2,100 in gift cards, has been lovingly donated to families and caregivers navigating the challenges of spending the holidays in the hospital.

These initiatives not only underscore our commitment to community welfare but also bring to life the positive changes realized when individuals and organizations unite for common causes. The collective actions of our Giving Committees resonate far beyond the offices, touching the lives of countless families facing challenging circumstances and, as always, make us proud to be Deacon.
